The candidates remained friends. Years ago as the owner of a small recruiting frm, I had the privilege of interviewing many amazing job seekers - but most always, for only one position. I was fortunate to maintain many friendships in spite of those who weren't chosen becuase I genuinely cared about their future, their families, their career. I wanted to do so much more.

     I had the skills to market them - but I didn't have the time. So many amazing people who needed someone to be their advocate and tell them how things "worked" in the job search process. Desperate to be seen and heard. I wanted to teach them how to market themselves - cold calling, networking, resume writing but there simply wasn't time to help the way I wanted.

 

     The clients continued to call as well.  They wanted more than a resume shop. They wanted to hire the person, not the paper. They needed more depth to make good decisions. And I recoginized my success ensured theirs and I took that role seriously.
